Welcome to the February edition of the CAD User Newsletter.

I never thought that I would have to start another eNewsletter comment talking about the weather, but here we are, the situation is still with us, and although the weather has improved slightly, we don't appear to have an end to it in sight. I have spoken to a couple of flood management and water planning companies about it, and as soon as we are able to should be posting some serious analysis from them, rather than the understandably acrimonious reactions of those unfortunate enough to be caught up in the disaster, or charged with resolving it.

Actually, the emergency services and almost everyone else involved needs to be commended, working flat out since they realised the crisis was going to be of exceptional severity and duration. The Government has ramped up its response as the situation developed - not everyone has the benefit of hindsight, and we can only guess at what should, could, has or hasn't been done and their likely outcomes.

We were going to focus heavily on BIM this year. I suspect that flood management will take equal billing
