Comment

Our last e-newsletter of 2015 includes an interview with AIIM’s John Mancini, who always manages to articulate the direction of the industry in a way that makes for fascinating reading. John talks about the death of the ‘technology sale’, and says that successful resellers and service companies in the future will be those who don’t think of themselves as selling ‘imaging’ at all: “The value for users lies in what Document Management can get you, not what it is.”

Mancini goes on to argue that, while everyone is currently focused on the data scientist, we need to also be on the look out for a new kind of specialist that he describes as the ‘data entrepreneur’: “people who understand business processes and what kinds of questions we should be asking of our data and content repositories — people with their eye on the business and their ear to the data.”

A great read and plenty of food for thought as we head into a new year, I am sure you will agree!
