Welcome to the September 2015 Newsletter.

It seems we’re rapidly approaching events and awards season here in the office with IP EXPO Europe just two weeks away and the Computing Security Awards being held the same week (thought it would be nice to give our sister publication’s event a plug!). As Network Computing editor Ray Smyth discusses in his preview of IP EXPO this issue, this year’s event is focused around six key themes: Cybersecurity, Data centre, Data analytics, Unified Communications, Cloud & Infrastructure and DevOps. More than enough to keep the average network manager occupied for a day or two then.

And while it would’ve been fascinating to hear from Edward Snowden as the keynote speaker this year the new headliner Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, should prove a more than worthy - and highly apt - alternative, especially given that one of the potential topics up for discussion will be “the business impact of Edward Snowden’s NSA disclosures.”

So if you’re at IP EXPO and see one of our various magazine teams then be sure to say hi, and if you’d also like to cast a vote or two for this year’s Computing Security Awards then head over to www.computingsecurityawards.co.uk by September 30th!
