Comment
More acquisitions in our news pages this month, as mailroom giants Neopost take over Data Capture Solutions (DCS). The logic of the move is clear: adding capture and digital workflow capabilities to an established mailroom offering can offer huge cost and efficiency benefits to Neopost's end users. The two companies have been partners for a while, so the move is unlikely to create more problems than it solves. As Kevin Ingram, MD of DCS commented: "We are... excited about the growth opportunities that will come from Neopost's larger presence in the market. After a successful partnership over the last two years, this new development will allow us to better serve our customers, and extend our reach in the market from the strong foundations we have built since we first established our business."

Deals like this seem to be increasingly common: two companies who have worked 'symbiotically' over a period of time decide to come together officially, often with the acquired business continuing to trade as its own entity. It will be interesting to see how this and similar M&A activities affect the uptake of digital mailroom technologies across the board. We live in interesting times!

Let us know what you think; we'd love to hear your views for future issues.
