Comment
One of the key items in this edition of our e-Newsletter is the 'Who's winning in the paper wars?' feature from our good friends at AIIM (www.aiim.org).The annual Paper Wars research from AIIM has become a touchstone for us and for many across the industry: an intuitive way for us to get an insight into who is really implementing capture technologies, and why. The 'why' of DM should be obvious, perhaps - as the article itself says, "...60% of respondents say they have seen ROI on their paper-free projects within 12 months, and more than three-quarters had done so within 18 months."
For many organisations numbers like that don't really need any more backing up. That said, the research also highlights that only one in five businesses has a board-level endorsed policy in place for reducing paper use - and more worryingly, a similar figure (21%) state that paper use is actually increasing in their organisation! Conflicting themes abound in this fascinating article, and I've no doubt that it - and the rest of the newsletter, of course! - will give readers plenty of food for thought.
