Network Computing Awards 2014

Voting is now open for the 2014 Network Computing Awards, and this year they include several new categories. Please cast your votes at: www.networkcomputingawards.co.uk. Here Ian Kilpatrick, Chariman, Wick Hill Group writes about the significance of being nominated as a finalist again this year

Rail fares are up and Easter eggs are in the shops - it must be January! Welcome to the first Network Computing newsletter for 2014, and what better time to announce that the finalists for this year's Network Computing Awards have now been determined and voting for the eventual winners begun. This year sees the introduction of several new categories to the awards - Device Management Product of the Year, Wireless Product of the Year, Mobility Product of the Year and Network Performance Product of the Year - designed to better reflect the constantly evolving demands made on our networks (not to mention our network managers).

Once again the Finalists have been determined by reader nominations, and you and you now have until the first week in March to vote for your ultimate winners in each category, with the notable exceptions of the Bench Tested Product of the Year and Project of the Year categories, which will be judged by Network Computing Editor Ray Smyth. As Ian Kilpatrick, chairman of Wick Hill Group writes in this issue of the newsletter, "We see being a finalist in these awards as a real vote of confidence in our performance and a sign we are providing a service that our customers really appreciate," so be sure to visit the network computing awards site to have your say on who will be going home with the trophies on March 13th.

And while we're in the process of launching things, the Network Computing twitter feed is now live too! Feel free to follow us on the link below for updates on the NC Awards, as well as the latest news and articles on all things networking. We promise not to tweet Instagrams of what we're having for lunch, although in fairness it rarely sticks around long enough to be caught in a photo anyway...
