This edition of the Storage magazine e-newsletter will arrive in your inbox just a week or two before the deadline for voting in this year's Storage Awards (see www.storage-awards.com for details). If the recent General Election results have taught us anything, it is that you can never predict who can win in any contest, no matter what the so-called experts may like to think. And in the Storage Awards there is no such thing as a 'safe seat', so every single vote matters. There is a huge list of categories covering every aspect of the industry, from individuals who have made a significant contribution, to projects that have achieved remarkable ROI, via hardware and software products of all shapes and sizes.
If you haven't yet cast your vote, please do; it is vital for the continuing integrity of an awards process that there is a good turn-out that we can believe is a genuine representation of our readership and of the industry as a whole. Just as with the General Election itself, there is no point complaining about who won and who didn't in the days following the vote, if you didn't make the effort to make your own voice heard. Of course I'm not suggesting for a second that the Storage Awards and the UK election are of a similar importance in the big scheme of things - our awards are much more important!
